On the Nov 6, Discovery Education hosted a student art show featuring art from 100 fort mill school students at the new Discovery Education headquarters in Charlotte. Watch this special Talk of the Town Carolinas video with interviews with Discovery Education Senior VP Rob Warren, Fort Mill School District Superintendent Dr. Chuck Epps, FMSD Director of STEM Victoria Brioc, Pleasant Knoll Middle School Art Teacher Carrie Vasquez, and Pleasant Knoll Middle School Art Student Mary Baldassarre.
The Fort Mill School District has placed a special emphasis on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math) education and each piece of artwork showcased at this first-ever event connects to that theme. Students across all grade levels contributed paintings, drawings, sculpture, and other types of art to this exposition, and each piece was selected by district art teachers for inclusion. Fort Mill School students, parents, school teachers and administrators where invited to attend this unique event. Discovery Education has partnered with the Fort Mill School District since 2016 to create dynamic, digital classrooms that prepare all students for success beyond graduation.
